It is important to The Dharma Door that producers are paid fairly in the local context. They therefore research the background of suppliers carefully to ensure that artisans are paid enough to meet the basic daily needs most of us take for granted, including nutritious food, housing, clothing, education for their children and health care needs.

They can thus say with confidence that each of their ‘producer partners’ meet and in some cases exceed fair trade standards.

In addition to their commitment to fair trade, The Dharma Door is also committed to the well-being of planet Earth. They import and sell only those products that are made with sustainable materials such as bamboo and jute; recycled paper and plastic, and they ensure each item is made with non-toxic glues, dyes and/or lacquers.
